THE ARMY
The Army at the Scottish Modified Car Show on Sunday 18th July 2010

It is with great pleasure that the Army is pleased to accept the invitation back to the Scottish Modified Car Show. Having organized the Army stands last year I know the amount off hard work and preparation that goes into putting a show off this magnitude together and the organizers will again have pulled out all the stops to ensure that everything you want to see on the day will be displayed.
The Army always strive for perfection and aim to provide displays that will not only attract individuals but that are catching to the eye. This year will be no exception. We are very fortunate again to be supported by both Regular and Territorial Army units and this will make the job of the Careers Advisors from AFCO Edinburgh that little bit easier. This year we are supported by the following units:
Regular Army
Army Recruiting Team 1 - Here you can get information about the Combat opportunities available in the Army and if you’re feeling energetic why not have a go on the 80ft Inflatable Assault Course.
Army Recruiting Team 6 - If its Engineering, Mechanics, Logistics or Communications you want then these are the guys to ask. Think you can take control of a mission then try your hand with the Virtual Reality Goggles. .
The Royal Scots Dragoon Guards – Scotland’s very own Armoured Corps, They’re back and most off all its back. The Challenger II. The British Army’s Main Battle Tank. 62 ½ tons, capable off speeds of up to 50kph cross country. An ideal opportunity to meet the crew, and get your photo taken.
Territorial Army
32nd Scottish Signal Regiment - The Territorial Army’s Communicators in Scotland. Come and see all the latest Communications and Information Technology Equipment used throughout the Army. Supported by the unit’s Electrical and Mechanical Engineers.
153 Field Company, Royal Electrical – From weapons systems to Challenger II engines these are the teams that will fix the kit under any conditions. Have a look at an Engine block from a 4 Ton Truck or the Gearbox Transmission form the Series 3 Landrover. One of the Army’s Recovery vehicles the FODEN, used in all conditions. Its big, it’s bulky and it doesn’t mess about.
71 Engineer Regiment, Royal Engineers – Based all over Scotland these men and women provide vital Engineering support throughout. From Construction to Destruction there is nothing they can’t do.
Scottish Transport Regiment, Royal Logistics Corps – How does all the fuel, ammunition, stores and vehicles get from one place to another? Well here’s your answer. The Army’s drivers.
6 SCOTS, The Royal Regiment of Scotland – Scotland’s Infantry soldiers, displaying a variety of the Weapon Systems and personal issue equipment used throughout the British Army.
