Triple xXx - Mazda RX8
When you've got a range of the best sounding audio at a price no-one can touch and it's time to choose a car to demo all that awesome kit, what would you choose? The answer was a simple one for the guys and girls at Mutant – Mazda's suicidal RX8!

Insane is the name of the game with this ground breaking car. It might not look like it from a distance but get closer, go on I dare you, and you'll soon see the tell tale signs that there's been a lot of evil genius moulded inside. Open the doors and you'll feel as though you're in the new Transformers movie with the amount of mind bending mods carried out inside. But we're getting ahead of ourselves a bit here, let's find out who the masterminds are behind this X rated ride.
It will come as no surprise to some of you that the brains behind this car is none other than Armour Automotive. The company that features one of the strongest lines of car audio anywhere in the world with Autoleads, Mutant, VEBA and Kicker being just a few of the big names they look after. In fact, the creative team behind this car's build was also responsible for the overpowering Kicker Hummer so that gives you just a small insight into what lies beneath this Mazda's black and red bodywork. So now you're well versed in the who, why and where from lets get down to business and inspect this gleaming black beauty.

The Mutant team have kept things fairly straight down the middle when it comes to outward appearances, they know only too well that the RX8 is an amazing looking beast just the way it comes so to complement the deep gloss black paintwork they've incorporated their trademark red and silver “slash” decals to great effect. Some of you might be wondering why they didn't go radio rental with a lairy paint job and massive kit, well the answer is simple – this car is all about audible presence, not in your face paint work – and boy have they got it spot on!
Moving inside and the real magic start to happen, it's like exploring a UFO that NASA have kept under wraps in Area 51. Every surface, panel or crevis is crammed deep with high quality no nonsense audio equipment from inverted MT405XXXC and MT505XXXC components pulsing through the suicide doors to the diagonal arrangement of 4 killer 15” MT1507XXX subs creating an impenetrable wall of sound. Even though the car's purpose in life is to showcase the best in pocket friendly ICE, the team have still managed to find time to install those little extra touches that make up the full package, like the embossed Mutant logos on the side of the custom sub enclosures or the blacklit gauges fitted behind the mirror pods. Everywhere you look you can see cross over from the original Mazda design flowing through into the Mutant XXX vision. Even looking at the rear of the car with the boot opened up you can see the claw marks across the array of MT15001XXX and MT4005XXX amplifiers matching perfectly with the coiled trim inside the rear light clusters.

Now when something looks this good you have to wonder if it will also live up to its expectations when you turn it all on; surely something this pleasing on the eye can't sound as good as it looks? Well prepare for take off because as soon as as voltage is applied to this equipment you better be ready for an aural explosion of tight, crisp highs and low rumbling bass. We really can’t believe this stuff costs so little but delivers so much! Get inside, close the doors, seclude yourself away from the worries of life and just soak up the pure enjoyment of a system that wont put your bank balance into the red but will in the same breath tick all the right boxes and provide you with first class sound. What's more is that it all seems to work just as well no matter what you throw at it. Melodic trance breakdowns from Tiesto to thundering metal solo's from the rock gods, it doesn't flinch or falter at all, keeping up with any pace of musical style you can think of.

...and it's not just us who think this! With thousands of people getting a first hand taste of what this incredible car can do at our show in July, we expect to see a LOT more Mutant world class audio products appearing in boots across the country over the next few months and conquering the cruise scene. Watch out – the Mutants are taking over!
